I agree that these are by no means an acceptable substitute for a dyno tune... but I don't agree they they are garbage.

What I plan on doing once the weather gets back to average riding temperature around Oklahoma... Take my bike to a well known tuner, have it tuned, and then have the Target AFR values the tuner comes up with placed into my Target AFR values on my bike.

There is a tuner in Tulsa that will actually TUNE the bike and not just toss in on the Dyno for a "4th gear whack" and let the Dynojet Tuning Link software do the work... He actually trims the power curve himself until it's as smooth as he can get it. And he tunes for best curve, not peak HP...which I also find to be a better tune

As for the sensor going bad, yes that is definitely a possibility... There is a self test on the Auto Tune module to test the sensor...which I do every time I change my oil. I have a toggle switch on mine to allow me to turn the auto tune on or off at will. If I turn it off, it goes back to whatever map is in the base map section and disregards whatever is in the Auto Tune trim area.

The auto tune does not save itself automatically to your base map. You must go in to the software to "Accept the Trims" before they are permanently written to your base map... so these issues have definitely been considered and failsafes have been put in to play.

Also, HOPEFULLY soon, Dynojet will be releasing the LCD screen that will CAN-Link to the PCV so one can data log and monitor that data on the fly as well.

Adding to the the "auto tuners" diddy....

I installed a brand new PCV on a bike and tuned it. We took it to the dyno to see how close it was. The 02 sensor was WAY off. As much as .8 at times. Im not a fan after seeing that....

Yup, there is NO substitute for a professional dyno tune.

damn duff I haven't even seen your bike on GDC like this. I liek the gadgets and stuff. VERY NICELY DONE. I'd hate to see that IPOD get a spring/summer shower though.
